Issue with 3D

Any ideas as to why the highlight box is not the same size as the 3D object.  The 3D box is 3 1/2" X 15'-10" X 1 1/2".

It seems that TurboCAD is sometimes making the highlight box a little bit bigger than the actual 3D item.  I have 3D item (simple extrude) set to be a ACSI object.  The box is actually a  3.5" X 15'-10" polyline that was simple extruded to a height of 1.5".

Hi

Can you share the drawing so we can see what is wrong... To me it could be a Workplane/Coordinate System issue...

I noticed this a couple days ago.  I was busy working on something with a time crunch, so I just changed the Space Units / Units in workspace / Format to Decimal and continued.

To get a Fractional display in the Inspector Bar, adjust Precision (just above Format) to have just enough information for the Inspector Bar to choose the correct denominator, but I must have been doing that wrong and was just too hurried to figure it out.

The highlighted area is the same size as the 3D object in  this first example.

The highlighted are is a little bit bigger than the 3D object in this second example.

In both examples it is the same exact 3D item I am clicking on.

The "Size X" "Size Y" listed value changes depending on how zoomed in or how zoomed out I am. Weird!  If I zoom way in and click on a 3D item, the highlighted area is the same size as the 3D item.  This is what one would expect.  If I zoom out and click on a 3D item, The highlighted area is bigger than the size 3D item.  Makes me wonder if it isn't some setting related to graphics display.

I just checked and I don't have any issues with 3D primitives.  So it appears to just be an issue with simple extrudes.

TC is compensating for pen width while zoomed in / out.  I just reset the layers pen width in design director to '0' and it now reads correctly irrespective of view.

Also remember that TC remembers your default properties when you click to start using a tool like extrude so before you use it check the selection info properties before you use the tool so not to inherit the pen width etc....
