Thank you. I can't ever seem to find the dimensioning properties window for changing the units and rounding. Someone please fill me in.

Go to the Dimension "Properties" dialog, "Units/Tolerance" page.

to call up any property dialogue box (for any tool) right click on your mouse when the tool is active  and select properties.

Or there is an icon in the inspector bar

If you set it, then Save As a Template, then you don't have to change it again the next time you open TurboCAD and select that named Template.

Seriously! Can we make simple things more complicated? That's the only permanent way to keep it?

Not sure, but I think there's a setting buried someplace in the TurboCAD Explorer palette that will allow you to change this property and make it permanent. But IMO that's a lot more complicated than Jeff's approach (which is how i do it).

I use the TurboCAD Explorer palette and change some of the settings in "Drawing_Defaults". To get there, expand "Settings", then "Built-in(Current)", then scroll down and click on "Drawing_Defaults".

See next post...

After you've made your changes, start a "New from Scratch" drawing to check whether the changes went through. If all is okay, shut down TurboCAD and go to the "Built-In" folder (%AppData%\IMSIDesign\TurboCAD 2018\Professional x64\Data\Profiles\Built-In). Copy the file "tcw25_xml.ini", go up to the "Profiles" folder (Alt+Up Arrow) and paste the copy there. If you need to dump the contents of the Built-In folder later on (due to some corruption), you have this copy to get things back to normal. This only affects New from Scratch, not existing files or Templates.

Stupid cheap Forum software won't allow me to post the two paragraphs in one post.
