Hi,

I was using microsoft word documents in my drawings for tables, now when i double click to edit I get 'Unable to open link source', I am on this new cloud based office there rolling out. It did intermittently work but seems a fragile link. I think its true nale said its an OLE insert. I did read that this wasn't supported anymore...is this the case, I have a several microsoft tables inserted in the drawings for parts lists.

thanks
brett

According to the Online Help (http://doc.imsidesign.com/articles/#!turbocad-2018-user-guide-publication/inserting-an-ole-object-1/q/OLE/qid/309/qp/1), it's not supported any more by Microsoft or TurboCAD, but does still work... sort of.

Try opening one of the files with the OLE links.  It should open just fine, but you may not be able to update it by editing the original Word document.

Make the Selection Info palette visible, click to activate Select mode and click on one of the OLE objects, then use the Explode command to see what happens.  I expect that the OLE text will remain as a native TurboCAD text object.

Repeat as needed and Save As a new file name.

Alternatively, you could change the OLE object from Linked to Embedded.

Well, that's the sort of thing you have to expect when the maker of your operating system changes their mind.
