Captcha won't let me reply
Read 309 times

I replied to a couple other posts tonight, but, all of a sudden, the forum software wouldn't let me reply to one post (I tried several times).  I'm not even certain I'll be able to post this as a new thread, but I'm going to make the effort.

I think something needs to be rebooted.

Whaddaya know...  I was able to post and, after 60 seconds, reply to the post (I hope it wasn't because of the attachment).

I'll try again on the other thread.

Nope... still a problem replying.  It may be the particular post (see http://forums.turbocad.com/index.php/topic,22849.0.html and see if you can reply there.

I can post anything via Google Chrome - it just say it has timed out every time, if if I try a quick post.

Jeff

I just replied in that thread without any problem, though didn't attach anything.  May not have been the same thing you were going to post though, as I don't have deluxe..

I just got stalled by Captcha in Chrome, switched to IE and it came up with a couple of pictorial tests, one a tiled picture that asked me to identify the tile(s) with bridges in them, then another that wanted clicking in the tiles with street signs in them.  I wondered whether it considered the tiles with the street signs' post to actually be a "street sign", per se. Apparently not.  How about that AI, eh?   And oh, the irony of having to confirm that you're not a robot.....to a robot.

Murray,

to err is human.  So, the irony, is that getting the Captcha correct, is perhaps more robotic?
Selecting the incorrect tiles and demonstrating an inability to resolve 5+4=? correctly, is possibly a greater demonstration of not being a robot, than otherwise?

When I've had Captcha problems, it was usually due to some formatting hiccup that it didn't like at that point in time. A day later, I would have no problems trying to post with the same formatting.

At least I could go "back" and copy my post, instead of trying to recall what I was trying to post in a new Reply.

Tim, the simple irony is that Captcha is automated, but it's asking me to assert that I'm not!

cheers!

I logged out from Firefox and tried posting from Chrome; same failure.

I have read that quotes within quotes is a problem, so I removed all quotes.  I thought, maybe, that Italicizing text might be causing a problem, but removing that didn't help, either.

The odd thing is, I can do all these things in other posts with no problem.  It just seems to be that particular thread.
