I am thinking about upgrading to 2017 Deluxe?  Is it truly smoother and less problematic that 2015?   I don't want to be in the same boat, if I upgrade.  Give me the good and the bad of the upgrade.  Help me make up my mind.  Thanks.

Dont use DL normally.
But I think Platinum 2017 is better than 2015 and 2016, so i would believe it is better in DL aswell + some New tool's
And a 2 step Upgrade is not so hard priced i believe, remember it is not long time before v 2018 and then it will be a 3 step Upgrade in case.

If you're rendering with RedSDK, I would recommend moving to Deluxe 2017, as they've changed the way Materials, etc are edited. It would be better to learn their new method instead the olde way.

I'd recommend the upgrade, too.

In addition to, in my opinion, better stability, there are additional commands.

However, I was not happy with how the method of editing Material definitions changed, specifically the greater difficulty in creating a new Material by modifying an existing one.

I just upgraded from deluxe v21 to Pro 2016 and i love it. I am no longer having to do workarounds for tasks that are simple in Pro. And the best thing is it only cost me about $110. Look for a version that is only about 1-2 versions behind the latest and you can get a great deal. I found mine on ebay and it is a download only version. I merely down loaded and saved it on my hard drive and made a backup on a flash drive. If anything happens to my computer i can just install it again. Came with Serial # and activation code.

Pro Platinum is going to give you more options than any deluxe version. 2016 PP is good, 2017 PP is much better!
