Is this possible? Seems to me it should be!

I generally end up extruding polylines then using boolean operations. Cumbersome...

2017 pro.

There's so much to learn and not much time left to learn it.

Thanks, yes I see it in 2017. Well sort of - slice by surface, which is near enough.

I generally have had to remain with v17.2 pro, as I cannot live without an extensive set of VBA code/macros I've used for many years.

Any suggestions on which file format I should use if I want to switch between versions a few times on a particular drawing? Seems it has to be DWG of some sort as there's no TCW I can use to go 'backwards'.

Also 17.2 is about twice the speed, and icons etc appear a lot better than they do in 2017, I cannot work out why.....

Close the polyline and extrude so that the extrusion encompasses part of the body you want to slice. Boolean intersect the two bodies, check the 'keep original' option.  Then subtract the extruded body from the original body.  The result is functionally identical to slice by surface.
