U3D Not working

Just discovered U3D is not working in 2017, yet it worked in 2016. I havent downloaded the update since earlier this year. ( previously worked with the reader alone!  )
Every time there is an update to tcw platinum do you need to update the plugins as well?

I dont have the U3D plugin installed, but set out a ppm file in TC, save as UD3, Close and open New drawing from scratch, inserted the U3D file, no problem.
TC PP 24.0   Build 62.2
RedSDK Hidden line

Darryl,  Are you meaning U3D saving from within v2017 Pro, or the U3D plug-in (which is for deluxe / Lte)

If from within v2017 pro - is it failing to save, or not opening in a specific program.

With the plug-ins, I assume you mean Lightworks, AL etc.   I don't know if its mandatory, but certainly advisable, if, in order to repair something in TC the programmers needed to alter the way a plug-in interacts with TC, then older plug-in versions may not work or cause problems, Personally I always install the updated full version of TC (not auto update), so I re-install plug-ins as well, + sometimes they repair the plug-in, for example the TCMap plug-in was faulty and has been repaired with the latest TCMap full version posted on the forum.

Andy yes to v2017 Platinum, AL & Lightworks. There is no plugin update available through the 2017 update page.

Most other plugins are available just not U3D!

U3D is a 'built-in' feature of v2017 pro, there is no plugin required,  if v2017 pro is up to date (build 62.2 is the latest) then the U3D filter will be up to date.

In 2017 Platinum (62.2), I saved a file in the U3D format and Adobe Reader XI wouldn't open it. I could open the U3D file in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.
When I saved the TCW drawing in the "PDF - Adobe U3D-based Portable Document Format", that would open in Adobe Reader XI.
In either case, I had to check that I trusted the documents before they could be viewed.

In the help file is it gives little information about the 3 'save as' file types for PDF and I think I may have picked the wrong format to post on. What I wanted was the pdf output to save the render for viewing in the pdf file. This is as good as example gets for wanting the wiki community site back, this would have solved my question and most likely got the right information about the 3 different save as PDF outputs and what they mean.
