"Failed to load - Unknown Error" loading DWG files

I have a file that I have been sent its a 5MB DWG file.   When I try to open it I get Unknown Error.    I have downloaded the DWG viewer utility from Autodesk and it opens just fine.   I have converted it using the utility to a couple of older file versions and still nothing.   I have checked that my version of TurboCAD 2016 Deluxe is up to date.

Im out of ideas - can anyone help?

It is possible that the DWG file you received is too new for the import filter in your version of TurboCAD, even after you saved it to an earlier version.

Which version of TurboCAD do you have and which versions of DWG have you tried?

If you care to experiment, open a new TurboCAD file, create something simple and click File / Save As.  Choose the DWG file type and go to Setup.  From there, you will see the available versions for your setup.

It is possible that the DWG file you have cannot be properly saved in an older version (due to some extra-special command function), but let's see what happens with the above sequence.

Thanks for your reply and apologies for being slow - ive been out of the office.

My version is 2016 Deluxe 64 bit v23.2 Build 61.2
It suggests (from the save as) the following are options 2013/2016, 2010/2-12, 2004/2006, 2007/2008, 2000, R14.

I have tried 2013, 2010 and 2007 so far on a couple of different files...

Hope that helps!  thanks again.
