I have never experienced this Andy. Maybe my drawings are not complicated enough..
Could be a GPU issue maybe?
Possible Darrel, the old GTX 660 is a bit out of date nowadays.
Will you please share the file with us? And if possible then please share the GPU information of your machine also.
The file is 35Mb on disk so a bit too big, but I can reproduce the effect with a new from scratch drawing, OK this may be an extreme test but illustrates the problem if you can reproduce the effect.
Open TC - New from scratch drawing (by default this is in inches)
Draw box 1 inch x 1 inch x 1 inch
Draw diagonal line on top
Cylinder tool - mid snap to the line, 0.8 inch diameter, 1 inch high - delete line
Boolean add box and cylinder
Select object - array copy 1.5 (x), 1.5 (y) 0 (z) 100 100 (creates 10000 objects)
Zoom out, Select Boolean add tool - click an object, drag a window to select them all - click finish
After a few seconds Click left mouse button (anywhere)
For me in 2016 (using windows 10, i7 processor, gtx 660 graphics, 16 gig memory, TC uses classic (white) screen and RedSDK), Tc remains as-is with the windows curser spinning for a while (as would be expected), in 2017, TC turns black until its added everything together, note the last click of the mouse button is just for this test as the easiest way to show the problem (assuming it can be re-produced).
It may just be my computer, but it doesn't happen in 2016.
