Grandson's Sundial

Another Sundial. This one for my grandson. Made from 16ga. Cold Rolled steel. Tig welded.
All parts were cut using vertical bandsaw with 1/2" wide blade.

Thank you Henry, Tom and Jeff. Henry the finish has been blued by putting it in my wife's oven and
baking it in at 550 for 1/2 hour.

Fantastic. So it's essentially a "tempering" color. Did you polish and/or oil the metal before baking?

Henry I just used a green scrub pad that my wife uses to wash dishes with. The steel already had a smooth finish. I just kinda clean it up a bit.
Would oiling the pcs. first create a swirling color effect or just produce a lot of smoke?

I really don't know. Might even mess up your wife's oven.
