When I select the text tool, there's no cursor and nothing happens when I type. Also, the parts of the toolbar that specify colour, size etc are missing.

Is this before or after you click to position the cursor on the workspace?

If after, then you may have to exit TurboCAD, delete the Built-In folder and re-load any custom configuration.

Hi Jeff, thanks for the help. I have looked for the built-in folder and can't find it. I have done a search of the computer, plus looked through the folders in the TC folder.

See this link,  http://forums.turbocad.com/index.php/topic,9797.0.html.

Note, have you have saved any customisation you have done to the workspace, Options menu - Toolbars & Menus - Options tab - Save in, if you have then you can use Load from to get back your workspace after deleting the built in folder, (deleting the built in folder resets TC to default workspace).

If you have saved a workspace, delete the built-in, then see if text works ok before loading your custom one, then see if it still works after loading your custom one.

As an alternative to fiddling with the Built-In folder, run the TCad installer again, selecting the "Repair" option.

The "Built-In" folder is a "hidden" folder to Windows. Try %AppData%\IMSIDesign\TurboCAD\20\Professional\Profiles\Built-In in the Window Explorer address field. This will open the Built-In folder for version 20 Professional.

Thanks to you all. I did a repair, which didn't restore the text options, and then deleted the built in folder, which worked. I had saved the workspace and when I restored it, the trouble returned, so it must have been something I did. Have now redone the workspace and saved it over the bad one. Thanks for your help!
