Architectural Walls

Is anyone making 3D houses using TC 2017 Pro Platinum? If so are you having issues with wall corruption? It seems like Auto Cleanup is completely out of whack. I tried both RedSDK and GDI modes.

As a last resort I think I will try and make all new drawing templates, in case that is the issue.

Pretty hard to get enthusiastic about making a house tutorial with issues like this.

Hi Don

I had a similar problem in TC Pro Plat 2016 and it was reported to Development with the kind assistance of Andy, Henry, Dean & Dave, (please see attached link Re: TC2016 Pro Plat Walls).

edit**Maybe not exactly the same but similar***

At the time Andy indicated it had something to do with Autocleanup. My drawing looked OK in TC2015 Pro Plat.

There is definitely something different.
I changed levels in my template which fixed some problems but
It seems the walls on different planes are now trying to auto cleanup too. With no way to drop the link between the two

Thanks Steve, Thanks Nikki,

Looks like it is the same issue as you pointed to in the link. I think the issues started when I added a second floor, although I only showed one floor in my original post.

You would think that this issue would be high on to fix priority list, but it is obvious that it has been known about for a while.

Hi Don

For me it look like you have "Link" on when making interior walls, then the walls very easy crash like that and have done so "always", at least as long back i can remember
I also sometimes see it if i use different alignment on Exterior and Interior walls
Is it possible to select interior and exterior and use Drop Link, and then later drag the interiorwall to the inside of exterior ??
Or redraw with link off, it is on by default

Hi Torfin,

Where do you find 'drop link'?

It will turn up as 3 symbol from left on inspectorbar when you Select 2 walls that are Connected, and also on rigthclick i think

I draw my elevations in 3D I had my templates set up with my 2D floors below ground level as less than zero and my above ground levels above zero and my 3D walls started on the world plane. That all changed in 2016 now No 3D wall can pass thru a wall on a 2D layer without corrupting it. I had to redo my templates to have all floor levels below the 3D work plane. I was told in 2016 that if the old versions did not have that problem then the new version should do it. But I guess it must be low priority it has been two versions now. I have hundreds of plans that I have to shift the work planes on before I can use them.

I had terrible problems with Doors after I placed Walls over a 2D plan I downloaded.  The dimensions were all screwed up and putting reasonable numbers in the frame width and height did not help.

I saved as V21 because of what you said about TC's stability for Architectural jobs, but haven't had the chance to test it.

But to address your question, I have not seen any problems with Walls intersecting each other in the short time I have been experimenting with it.
