So I selected 4 items that were solids and tried to move them, TC crashed, I restarted program and now when I go to load the file the programs crashes right away, I was wondering if I could get someone else to try and open the attached file.
Thanks
Paul

Opens Fine here,  though obviously I don't know if anything is missing,  re-saved 2017 file attached for you to test.

I'll delete the file it once you have looked at it.

Thanks Andy
The original file wont open on my office computer or home computer, your resaved file wont open on my home computer? any chance you could save it to 2016 and I can see if it will open in that version. I can see 1 corrupt install but you can open it, so I should be able to on my home computer.

Paul, try this one.

I copied and pasted the file into a blank drawing, this showed up a extra text style which appears to be faulty, so I reset the text and dimensions  to use standard (blank file) text style instead of this extra one, and copied again into a new from scratch drawing to get rid of the style, and I exploded the simple extrudes once to get an ACIS object.

Saved back into v2016 and it opens ok in v2016 here  - DRAWBACK - doing all this means you have lost your viewport / paperspace, and geo-location.

Attached a pic of the viewport and properties missing from the 2016 file.

Thank you Andy
This one opens fine in both 2016 & 2017 and this was one of the few times that I didn't have a backup of the file, plus the auto save or backup files produced when the TC crashes caused TC to crash at startup as well. Lesson learned keep multiple files in case one goes south on you.

When this happens to me. I start a new drawing and "file extract from"  select the corrupted drawing  and check all the boxes. Most times the drawing is recovered.

re: …it will be interesting to see if other can open the file…

Your drawing created a UE and a report was sent to Softdev.

Paul,

We found this happens in RedSDK mode only, so you can avoid the crash and clean the drawing from bad entities:
- Start TurboCAD, change native draw engine to GDI (Options->Native Draw)
- Then open your file and perform selection of all text entities (Edit->Select By->Entity Type and select Text in the list). Ok. Several text entities will be selected.
- Then you can check every selected entity's Font Size property, and delete all texts where Font Size is 1.#qnan (or similar) value by clicking right mouse button in each Selection Info line and selecting "Delete" in popup menu.
- Then resave file and it will work again.

However we would like to know the way to reproduce the issue to fix it, so if you get same crash again (we think this could be related with text entities transformations, scaling, multiplying sizes on zero or something), please, inform us here for we can reproduce it and fix the cause.
