Lit Sphere

A while back someone was asking about lighting text from within a sign. Having seen an interesting render today on another CAD gallery I decided to mimic it somewhat and try to illuminate the text. I spent a couple or so hours trying this and that and the best I could come up is the attached. It has a luminance point light with shadows inside the sphere and a foreground medium to catch the rays. I also used a bit of ambient light and I tried dozens of RSE HDR images for reflections. The attached was done using LightWorks in TC 2016. I have mixed feeling about the final result but thought it might be worth posting in our very quiet TC gallery.

Nice effect Don, the background letters reminds me of films where the letters start far away and accelerate towards the camera,

I'm impressed and appreciate the tips on how to go about doing the same sort of thing.
