Black Friday-Cyber Monday Deals

Tis' the season to get good deals from Craigslist or garage sales for TV and monitors.  I recently bought a 40" LED TV for about $60 and a soundbar for $20 and put them in the patio with the 90 watt receiver two speakers and subwoofer that I found on the curb the day after a garage sale.  When others are buying new stuff on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they get rid of their old stuff that is still good for cheap prices.  A larger TV with HDMI would make a great CAD monitor.  Just get a HDMI/DVI adapter if your video card doesn't have HDMI.

Merry Xmas!

Merry Xmas to you, too, John. I hope your neighbors share your taste in entertainment and keep the same hours you do.

Neighbors?  Yes, I'll keep the volume down.  And be sure you try to get a 1080P for CAD.

When I lived it the city (Dallas, Texas), we would often cruise apartment complexes at the end of the month. Many people would toss out useable items just because they didn't want to move them.

Anyone get lucky yet?  I narrowed my criteria for a TV.  I want LED/LCD, 1080P, a USB that does JPEG, Mp3, and MPEG/Video.  If it has S-Video or RCA Audio outputs then it's an older model to stay away from.  I almost bought another 40" for my bedroom but changed my mind even after getting a lower price.  It was eight years old for one thing and I already have a 23" anyway.  If I don't watch out, I'll end up with a garage filled with old TVs.

Happy New Year!

I just got a bit of luck.  In the mail I got a flyer from KIA so I rushed down to the dealership to be one of the first fifty to win a tablet powered by Android.  Ya snooze ya lose.  With it I can read my email and download apps.  I'll probably use it as a mp3 player for my stereo system or in the car.

Once again, Happy New Year!
