Help needed with Alt Character set

I know that holding down the <Alt> key while typing "0176" will give the degree sign (in some, but not all, fonts), but I want to get the 8th (counting from 0) character and <Alt>+0007 doesn't work.  Neither does <Alt>+007, <Alt>+07 nor <Alt>+7.

Any idea how to do this?

Thanks in advance,

Jeff

Maybe others will understand it better Jeff, but to me, it's not clear what you are asking.  Can you restate it another way please.

<ALT>0149=•
     <ALT>7=•
  (using the Numeric Keypad)

Well, that's annoying.  The first several times I tried <Alt>+7 (no, I did not press the '+' key), my computer just beeped at me.

However, selecting the Text object and going into Properties / General allowed me to change some of the <space> characters to the '•' character by selecting the <space> character and typing <Alt>+7.

Thanks for the assistance.  Even with the special character aggravation, Bent to Path is working a lot better than Text Along Curve (I just had to change the Text object's Properties to Flexible to add Thickness (under 3D) first.

typing %%d also gives you a degree symbol. Maybe that will work for all the fonts.
