hello again:

going through the 2d tutorial (second time) I'm trying to look at the drawing and performing the task prior to watching the animation to reinforce my skills. on one example the task was to shorten two lines to a third line. I went to modify and used the trim tool which worked as advertised. then I ran  the animation and it used shrink/extend line which accomplished the same thing. what is the difference between these two tools?

thank you in advance!

best regards,

The Object Trim tools slices 2D entities and deletes the part you click on.
The Shrink/Extend Line tool does exactly that; it causes the line you click on to shrink back or extend towards another 2D object that you click on.

See also Modify Tools for some light reading. :D
