Title: Background image size
Post by: Steve The Kiwi on June 01, 2009, 05:37:20 PM
Is there a limit as to how big an image should be for using as a background image? I am having trouble with one and I perhaps think size maybe a reason.

Hello Steve, I ran into the same problem about a year ago, and there is some info on the old forum in relation to this. John R said that he believed that a maximum image size of 10,000,000 pixels was the limit or 3000 x 3000 pixels or max maybe sqrt of 10,000,000  (3162 x 3162 pixels). This was in version 15 of Turbocad, as I have not tried in version 16. Also when saving as image , set to display extents instead of display view, and put any non renderable objects such as layout lines etc on another layer that is turned off, and make sure that lights are not visible as the image takes the extents of all visible objects including lights.

Thanks Michael. I have changed image size and it works. I went down to 2000. Further fiddling to be had!
