Title: Insert .jpg
Post by: John B. on February 06, 2019, 06:28:17 PM
I want to insert a picture, .jpg, so I can draw symbols on but so far I don't get any picture at all.  I've been away for a while and I'm rusty.

I used "Insert / Picture / From File", set the "Files of type" to JPG, then browsed for the JPG.
Snap to where you want the upper-left corner of the image, then snap to where you want the lower-right corner.
Your image should appear.

I recommend that you go to "Tools / Raster Image / Image Manager".
Select the image name, then click on "Embed", "Apply", finally "OK".
This saves the image as part of the drawing, so that you don't need the JPG file following the drawing around.

Oh, I hid that monstrously long pipe/cylinder and some extraneous lines on a new layer.

That was easy.  I was part way there but couldn't finish it off.  That monstrously long pipe/cylinder will be a tunnel under the Los Angeles River as an example to collect rain water and store it for drinking in thirsty LA.

Thanks,
