Post by: Darryl W on February 12, 2018, 02:38:03 PM
Got an old toshiba notebook still in working order, how can I tell if the XP version is 32 / 64 bit?

Been a long time since I use xp64,  either, starts - right click 'my computer' - properties,  or start - control panel - system, it should state the windows version, if there is nothing after 'windows xp' it will be 32 bit, (x64 = 64 bit).

If you are thinking of installing TC, I'd suggest you install the 32 bit version even if you have xp64.  When XP64 came out TC was still in 32 bit versions only, (TC only became 64 bit with v19), I would expect less chance of any problems by installing TC 32bit.

Daz,

just to add, whilst TurboCAD runs perfectly well on an XP 32-bit machine (if this is the case), you will be restricted to rendering individual files using a bit less than 2 GB of memory.

Another way would be to bring up the Device Manager and expand the Computer tab at the top.
