Title: Draw with Imperial & Metric together
Post by: Darryl W on January 19, 2018, 03:32:13 PM
I rarely if ever draw in imperial as metric is so much more universal, so whats the best method for drawing in imperial but wanting to see metric as an option for detailed drawings? ( can I combine the two together? )

When drawing in imperial what is the correct input of say 5" and 3/8" for a dimension input value or the inspector bar?
(eg: 5.3/8)

The attached 2017 drawing  was done in metric with Alternative Units checked. Have a look thru Dimension Properties and Space Units for setting I used.
Hopefully this helps you.

You can input 5.375 or 5 3/8 (you need a space between 5 and the fraction).

As for dimensioning, activate the "Alternate Units" page in the Dimension Properties to show both Imperial and Metric. Put a "\P" in the Primary "Suffix" field to place the values on separate levels. Use "\X" if you need a line between values.
