Title: Cat 3 Hitch plate
Post by: exdraftee on November 06, 2017, 02:21:22 AM
Hi,

I have been unable to show items until recently due to a confidentiality clause. However as the client is in the final stages of proof of concept testing I can reveal some items.

Essentially we have been using TC to create agricultural parts in 2D/3D in Australia with the 3D file being sent to a Chinese manufacturing company who have been excellent in producing lost investment castings of the designed items for sale.

Many of the cast items have been quite complex with curved faces. All managed in TC alone from V16 approx.

If interested here is my address on Facebook  https://www.facebook.com/FerrariDrafting/ - everything on there has been completed using TC & more recently 3D printing has amplified the ease of concept to production.

P.S I have to give a wrap to the senior posters on here such as Gregt, JohnR, Henry Hubich and several others who really provided a lot of help back a few years ago, as well as TC staff directly.

Brett,

    thanks for posting.

It's always interesting to see the manufactured results, from hours/days/months of 'playing' with Turbocad.  8)
Industry appears to be increasingly reliant on companies outside their immediate domain, to produce much of what has been locally designed.
Sign of the times, I guess.  ???

    Anyway, keep at it!

Regards Tim

Thanks Guys,

TC has been a really good all round tool. I have in the past looked at moving towards solidwoks or autocad however TC seems to tick all the boxs for me..

It is unfortunate to have to go offshore for manufacturing - however we have been getting some stuff fabricated onshore in Australia, but its a balancing act with trying to become viable in the market, especially when the client is putting his own money into it with little return as yet.

Regards
Brett.
