Title: Password lock layers
Post by: [email protected] on June 22, 2017, 04:03:39 PM
More than once Ive wanted to post on the forum but have held back due to the nature of my work re (patent designs).

It makes sense to me that the idea of password protecting layers could be viable. So if I wanted specific feedback on a layer or object and I could turn layer visibility off for other layers and make the key layer visible and protect it by a password then does that make sense.

Thanks
Daz

There is a continuing bug that, when printing, that invisible layers will be included.  Until that bug is fixed, having a password lock may not be the best way to proceed.

The workaround is to delete the Layers with proprietary information from the file that is provided to your collaborators.

It's easy to take the returned file, Select by Layer and copy back into the original (after deleting the same Layer name from the original).

Jeff thats a good tip by just removing layers. What versions have the bug?
Just glad that I learned aboir the bug as I was close to sending key aspects to vendors and that would have been a disaster.

Is imsi aware?
