Title: Searchable keyboard ... dialog
Post by: Daniel on October 25, 2016, 06:16:31 PM
Hi ya,

TC 2016 Deluxe on Windows 10.

I was looking for the complete set of SEKE mappings and found that SEKE does not appear in the keyboard mapping dialog. I was hoping to be able to type in something like 'snap' or 'seke' and see if could find it for me. In the end I had to scroll until I saw the word snap.

A search function would really help.

Thx
D

For SEKE's you can go to "Help / Keyboard" in you program. It shows all the hotkeys available. Another place is SEKE's (http://www3.turbocadcommunity.com/tiki-index.php?page=SEKE%27s) in the Wiki.

Thanx John. I found it there in the end. It would have been easier and quicker to find had a search function existed.

The doc doesn't cover the default key mappings as far as I can tell which is a pity. I understand that they can be modified of course, but the defaults would be nice to have in the doc.

Thanx for the Wiki link. That's the sort of thing I would have expected in the doc. It raises another question : what exactly is the relationship of the wiki to the doc ? Is it an augmented user written community maintained doc or is it something else ? I haven't spent much time on it yet.

Thx
D

Previous management put up the Wiki about 10+ years ago. It was for the users, but hardly anyone came, except Andy H and myself. Then the spammers came. Now it's locked up and we try to update it when the motivation is there.

Help/Keyboard print it to pdf. and use acrobats search on a key word.  Not the best but better than scrolling through the entire list.

Thanx for the suggestion - that'll hold for now.
