Being that myrouter does not have a tool changer, I use a 1/4" 2 flute, solid carbide, high helix router bit from Onsrud, for most operations. Most of my parts are assembled with 5/16 - 18 stainless steel flat head cap screws. Instead of drilling those holes, I just interpolate them with the 1/4" bit. This saves me from having to change ou the tool bits. With that said, when I do have to do a tool change, I rarely us the "Z" tool offsets. I have physical stops on all of my tools to keep all of my tool lengths the same.
