I went to Siggraph 2010 in Los Angeles and after seeing all the new stuff for animation and 3D I can envision a TurboCad drawing in 3D.  That is, the 3D that uses the red/blue glasses that the movies and new 3D tvs are using.  It would really be neat to see renderings in 3D, or 3D renderings in 3D.  Whatever.

Here's one of the earliest, I think. Done in Version 6. No glasses needed to view it in 3D, just a bit of patience.

re: I went to Siggraph 2010 in Los Angeles...

Did you stop in at the LightWorks booth and complain about their product? Relate the TurboCAD tale of woe about how LightWorks won't do this and that, etc., etc. and users are migrating to other rendering solutions.

No, I didn't stop to raise the tent top but I did grab a couple of pens off their table (blue ink...ug).  Besides, I'm not up to speed on their shortcomings.

From the examples I see it's going to take a long time before 3D happens here.  It will probably involve a special monitor and advanced software.  I didn't spend much time to look into the companies that do 3D and I really think 3D isn't all that impressive.  Except for the dinosaur that jumped off the table and walked around on the floor.
