Pop Up and View Menu Cannot Be Hidden Or Moved
Read 291 times

Hi All,

I am working  on a three monitor workstation and am having issues with the popup menus and the view menu not being able to be hidden. When I go into the Toolbars and uncheck the box they go away temporarily then come back when I start working again. There is no check box for the View Menu and so I have not been able to hide it even temporarily. They appear on different monitors. The popups appear on monitor 2 and the view appears on monitor 3.

Any ideas why they keep coming back or how to clear the screen of these menus permanently as I do not need them and they are interrupting the space on my monitors.

Best Regards,
Dean

After setting the palettes as you want them, try saving a custom Workspace.  It's location in the menu hierarchy depends on which of the many user interfaces you have selected, but I can always get to it by right-clicking in an empty area of the TurboCAD window (the cursor must not be over the Model or Paper space display portion and not over an icon), then selecting the Custom tab near the upper left corner.

Create a new name under Save In:, then click on Save In:.

Close TurboCAD and re-start it to verify operation.

What "Version / Build" are you using? In an early build of 2019, I had the List windows for palettes appearing in the middle of the screen (either monitor). It's okay now, though I still don't have a scrollbar.

When you mention "popup", are these the "Pop-Up Toolbars" that appear with the Local Menu or the "Use Choice…" window (when selecting) or flyouts from toolbars?
I've always used their "PopUp-1,2,3" toolbars and edited them to suit. I've never had much luck with the other toolbars.

The "View" menu is part of the "Menu Bar" toolbar. That's the only toolbar that can't be turned off or deleted.

V26.0  Build 37.4

I seem to recall something about that, but I only use one monitor, so I have not seen this problem.  The palettes have always been added to the flyout (well, it would flyout if I hadn't locked it in place) at the right.

I did not mention "popup", but the Customize menu is a popup.  This one is not associated with the Local Menu (even though it pops up in the same location on the screen).

The "View" menu is part of the "Menu Bar" toolbar. That's the only toolbar that can't be turned off or deleted.

In my configuration, the View menu is in the drop-down menu hierarchy at the top of the TurboCAD window.

I see that I should've used the Forum Quote feature. My questions in "Reply #2" were for Dean and that maybe he was using the original release of 2019.

Hi Jeff,

unfortunately the problem occurs on click for the popups and is permanent for the other window. Saving a workspace did not change the result.

Hi John,

Currently using TC 2019 Platinum 64-Bit version 26.0 build 34.1 Is this the latest version?

I still don't have a clue by what you mean with "…am having issues with the popup menus…".

Hi John

If you go to toolbars and menus then to toolbars to the right of the options tab. I was experiencing a bug where the Popup-1, PopUp-2 Toolbars would check themselves whenever I did not have the right click menu up and it would place the tool bar in another monitor until I right clicked. It would toggle between normal and stuck in another monitor with a right click. Going to the Toolbars and unchecking the box would temporarily remove the toolbar however it would reactivate when I selected an object. There was also the view menu that was stuck in another monitor and could not be moved or Xed out.

I'm going to try to install the latest version of TC.

Are you using Tool Groups? That would open toolbars, etc. when you activate a particular function.

When you reinstall the program with the latest Build, I would clear the "Built-In" folder; so everything is ‘new’.
