Rendering with on board graphics

Could someone help ? . My company has just upgraded my P.C. And also my TurboCad and it would
seem that I can no longer render my drawings . When I try and change the properties of the material,
the category keeps coming back to Active Drawing and when I do a draft render the image just goes to a
solid colour and not the birch I’m after , is this because the on board graphics not good enough    ???

Any chance of a sample file you'd like to render.

The Active Drawing category is new to 2016, when one selects a new material it is transferred to the active Drawing bit, one can then edit the material in 'object properties' as a separate material, so that it won't change the master material and mess up the materials used in different files, the active drawing materials are saved in the file rather than within TC.

Draft won't always show the correct material, because of the lighting used, as to the material not changing there are a few things that could be causing it, like simply altering the material in the main material files instead of active drawing, difficult to say without seeing something, its unlikely to be the on-board graphics.

What was the previous version of TurboCAD used?
When rendering in the earlier version, was this in LightWorks or RedSDK?
If LightWorks, did the company purchase the LightWorks plug-in for Deluxe 2016 (it is no longer built into the program)?

Hi  John R/Andy H
The version before was 16 deluxe and far as I can tell the P.C.  it was on was a Dell Optiplex 740 . To use the onboard on my new pc do I need to be rendering using Lightworks as will have to get are I.T. department on it. I've attached what I get if I do a draft render of the job that I'm working on at the moment as a png along with the TC file .  :-[
Is it just that I don't have the right buttons switched on .

This is what I get in Deluxe 2016 that has the LightWorks plug-in for Deluxe. Hopefully the LightWorks renders are similar to what you had in V16 Deluxe.

Just to add to John's reply (and the fact I'd already started to reply  :) ) - to get this rendered - right click on the rendering teacup, under draft render change it from 'openGL' to RedSDK, the second drop down will automatically change from gouraud to RedSDK draft,  while your there go to quality and set that render type to RedSDK then drop down below that you could set to RedSDK standard.

A second minor thing is I got a facet error when rendered, as if there was a facet material somewhere, if deluxe has the setting in the attached - untick it (should be in Options menu - preferences). It won't affect anything already drawn but will help for the future.

If you will be opening older files in v2016, get your firm to purchase the Lightworks plug-in, it will save you a lot of aggravation when trying to render older files.

I got this Quality / RedSDK / Raytrace Standard render and all I had to do was turn off Point_1 & Point_2 (also setting Perspective).

Thanks for the help but it looks like I will have to speak to I.T. to get me Lightworks as when I try to do the setting of RedSDK I get the attached message

Just to let everyone know my rendering problem has been sorted, I.T. loaded it on the new pc and had not set the graphics right, they had put it on another pc as well and I could render with that one so they went back to see what was different. ::)
